Thank you for showing up for yourself and to Peace Place Psychotherapy
~Welcome to Peace Place Psychotherapy~
I'm Laura Puffer and I created Peace Place Psychotherapy as a safe space where healing, growth and a sense of calm can naturally unfold. My path to becoming a therapist began with a love for understanding human behavior and a desire to help people find meaning, purpose and inner peace by becoming their authentic selves.
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology followed by earning my Master’s Degree in Counseling from the University of Southern Mississippi. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a National Certified Counselor. Over the past 26 years, I have worked in a variety of service settings-private and nonprofit practice, inpatient, community and home based services-each experience deepening my passion for supporting others through life’s challenges and sharing in celebrating in personal growth and success.
My approach to therapy is warm and collaborative that will be tailored to your unique needs. I draw from a variety of evidence-based and holistic practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Behavioral Therapy to help shift unhelpful thoughts and behaviors, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) to cultivate presence and calm, Person-Centered Therapy to ensure you feel heard and valued and Positive Psychology to highlight strengths and foster hope. My style is intentionally eclectic, blending these approaches in a way that best supports your individual journey.
My intention is to provide thoughtful, compassionate care for adults and teens experiencing anxiety, depression, life adjustments and trauma. I meet each individual where they are, with unconditional positive regard, empathy and respect and I honor the unique path you walk.
Healing and Evolving is not just about overcoming—it’s about reconnecting with the wholeness of who you are, rediscovering your voice and finding balance in the rhythms of life. At Peace Place Psychotherapy, change and progress happens through connection—to yourself, to others and to the natural world around you.
This is a place to be heard, to be whole, and to find peace.
